Green Coffee Beans — Costa Rican Varieties from Dota, Tarrazú

True Coffee grows five specialty Arabica varieties on our own farm in Dota, Tarrazú — part of the Los Santos coffee region, at altitudes between 1,200 and over 1,900 meters above sea level, on volcanic soil with distinct dry and rainy seasons. Every lot is 80+ SCA points and available from 1kg to 45kg — see our wholesale options.

Our Varieties

Caturra

A natural mutation of Bourbon, and one of the historic pillars of Tarrazú coffee. Grown between 1,200 and 1,700 meters, it typically cups with bright citrus acidity, medium body, and sweet notes of sugarcane and milk chocolate.

Catuaí (Red and Yellow)

A cross between Mundo Novo and Caturra, well suited to the slopes of Dota and Tarrazú for its resistance to wind and heavy rain. Red Catuaí tends toward chocolate and nutty notes; Yellow Catuaí toward brighter fruit acidity and more residual sweetness.

Typica & Bourbon

Two of the foundational varieties of Costa Rican coffee, still kept in specific lots on the farm for their clean, balanced, sweet cup.

Geisha

Grown above 1,600 meters in Dota, in valleys like Santa María de Dota — where our own farm is based. Geisha from this altitude is known for a highly floral profile (jasmine, orange blossom), notes of bergamot and peach, and a silky, complex acidity. Lower agronomic yield than our other varieties, which is part of why it is the most sought-after.

Green Coffee, Ready to Roast

All of our coffee is sold green (raw, unroasted) — picked, processed, and selected on our own farm, then shipped directly to you as green coffee beans, not through a broker reselling lots from multiple farms. Available from 1kg for roasters who want to try a lot, up to 45kg, with larger volumes available as a special order.
